This Privacy Policy explains how Pacer ("Pacer," "we," "us," or "our") handles information in connection with the Pacer mobile application for iPhone and Apple Watch and the website at aipacerapp.com (together, the "Service"). Pacer is an on-device AI running coach. We designed it so that your training and health data stays on your device by default.

The short version. Pacer's coaching model runs on your device. Your Apple Health data is read on your iPhone to build and adapt your training. We do not sell your data, we do not use your health data for advertising, and we do not require you to create an account to use the core coaching features.

1. Information processed on your device

To act as your coach, Pacer reads health and fitness data you choose to share through Apple HealthKit — which may include heart rate, heart-rate variability, resting heart rate, sleep, workouts, distance, pace, and active energy. This data is used on your device to generate readiness scores, training plans, and workout targets. You control what Pacer can read through the iOS Health permissions screen, and you can change or revoke access at any time in Settings.

2. HealthKit data

Health data obtained through HealthKit is handled in accordance with Apple's requirements. Specifically, we do not use HealthKit data for advertising or marketing, and we do not sell it or share it with third parties for their own purposes. Health data is not disclosed to any third party except as required to provide a feature you have requested, or as required by law.

3. Information that may leave your device

Some limited information may be transmitted to provide certain features. Where this happens, we keep it to the minimum needed:

Push notifications. If you enable notifications, a device token is processed through Apple's Push Notification service so we can deliver workout reminders and coaching nudges.
Optional sync. If you use features that synchronize your plan or activity between your devices or with the coaching service, the data needed for that feature is transmitted securely to operate it. You can use Pacer's core features without enabling these.
Diagnostics. We may process limited, non-identifying diagnostic and crash information to keep the app stable. This does not include your raw Health data.

4. Purchases

Purchases (including Pacer Pro) are processed by Apple through the App Store. We do not receive or store your payment card details. Apple may share limited transaction information with us (such as confirmation of a purchase) as described in Apple's privacy policy.

5. How we use information

To provide and personalize your coaching, plans, and readiness insights;
To deliver notifications you have enabled;
To operate, maintain, secure, and improve the Service;
To respond to your support requests; and
To comply with legal obligations.

6. What we do not do

We do not sell your personal or health data.
We do not use your health data for advertising.
We do not share your health data with data brokers.

7. Data retention and deletion

Data processed on your device remains under your control and is removed when you delete the app or revoke its permissions. For any limited information processed by the Service, we retain it only as long as needed for the purposes above or as required by law. You may request deletion of information associated with you by contacting us at the address below.

8. Security

We use reasonable technical and organizational measures designed to protect information, including encryption in transit for any data that is transmitted. No method of storage or transmission is completely secure, and we cannot guarantee absolute security.

9. Your rights

Depending on where you live (for example, under the GDPR or the CCPA/CPRA), you may have rights to access, correct, delete, or restrict the processing of your personal information, and to object to certain processing. To exercise these rights, contact us at the address below. We will not discriminate against you for exercising your rights.

10. Children

Pacer is not directed to children under 16, and we do not knowingly collect personal information from them. If you believe a child has provided us information, please contact us so we can remove it.

11. International users

Pacer may be used worldwide. Where information is processed outside your country, we take steps designed to ensure it receives an appropriate level of protection.

12. Changes to this policy

We may update this Privacy Policy from time to time. When we do, we will revise the "Last updated" date above and, where appropriate, provide additional notice.
